Dr.
Lenore T. Coleman
Pharm.D., CDE, FASHP
Lenore
Coleman received her Bachelor of Arts from Revelle College, University
of California, San Diego and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the
University of California, San Francisco. She completed an ASHP approved
residency in Ambulatory Care at the USC School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Coleman
has been a practicing pharmacist for over 20 years and has worked as a
clinical pharmacist in Acute Care, Ambulatory Care, Long Term Care, and
Community Pharmacy settings. Within each of these practices, Dr. Coleman
has focused on the care and management of people with diabetes.
Dr. Coleman
was Chief of Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacy Services at the VA Sepulveda
Medical Center. There she was responsible for the coordination of seven
clinical pharmacists, four primary care residents and the Patient Ambulatory
Care and Education (PACE) clinical pharmacy program.
Dr. Coleman
holds the title of Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at
the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy and is a Certified
Diabetic Educator. In March 1996, Dr. Coleman became a Fellow of the American
Society of Health Systems Pharmacists which represents sustained excellence
in a practice area for more than 10 years.
A recognized
expert in the areas of Diabetes, Cardiovascular risk-reduction as well
as medication adherence, Dr. Coleman has numerous publications in these
areas and presents at both national and international forums.
Currently
Dr. Coleman is the:
- Clinical
Manager /Owner of Total Diabetes Care and Medical
Supplies, Inglewood California
- Developer
of a minority based on-line information service entitled www.blackandbrownsugar.com.
Consultant
services provided by Dr. Coleman include:
- Eliminating
health disparities in people of color through education and training
in self-management techniques.
- Scientific
speaker in the areas of diabetes and cardiovascular disease at national,
regional and local CME and ACPE accredited programs.
- Establishing
community based wellness and prevention programs in faith based organizations,
community health clinics, hospitals, and employee work-sites.
- Assistance
with minority recruitment for phase 3 and phase 4 clinical drug studies.
- Provision
of Managed Care formulary presentations to obtain preferred status or
maintain formulary position of pharmaceutical product
- Work with
National and Regional Managed Care Account Representatives to develop
"Value-Added" programs for key accounts.
- Work with
key Managed Care accounts to provide "Pull-Through" programs
to increase utilization of products with physician medical groups.
- Serve
as a liaison between Medical and/or Marketing Department and contract
vendors to assist in the development of curriculum and slide kits ensuring
that the marketing messages are delivered and ROI is obtained.
